Founder of SMP, Jennifer Stowers, has worked professionally as a content writer and professional website designer for other companies for more than a decade. However, despite her love for helping small businesses, her heart has always belonged to the publishing community.
We’re excited to offer professional web design for authors who want to take their internet presence to the next level. Using WordPress and Divi, our goal is to create quality websites for fiction and non-fiction authors alike. Our basic packages include a home page, blog page & post templates, a book or book series page template, an an about page. Authors can choose a pre-existing template which will be customized using their images, book covers, content, colors, logo, and more. Or, for a more personalized experience, they can select which modules best meet their needs for those same pages for a more custom web design experience.
For authors with an extensive backlist, or those who just want something a little more unique, we do offer custom website design as well. In addition to the base pages, our custom website design option includes three styles of book or book series pages, along with two other specialty pages and a strategy meeting to help plan for future growth.
How We Build Websites
Our web designers are highly trained in both WordPress and Divi to create user friendly sites that highlight your brand and creativity. We also build each website with search engine optimization in mind. Laying the groundwork for SEO from the start puts each website in a better position for the future. We also focus on creating a great user experience for each and every potential customer. We take the time to create easy-to-use navigation and ensure all images are properly sized for fast loading.
While we do offer services including logo and graphic design, we prefer to use your own content and images to stay within your website budget. We also recommend that you handle your own domain registration to ensure you’re always the owner of your own domain name.
However, should you find yourself in need of additional services, we do offer content creation (as a ghostwriter), website hosting, logo design, graphic design, and more for an additional fee. We can even manage future updates and editing to your author website should you need changes made down the road.
